The KLS Laser Marking Shroud is a portable, light-tight safety barrier that fastens directly to your Keyence laser marker.

By combining a rigid aluminum frame with interchangeable brush and ultra-soft foam seals, the shroud interface conforms to a variety of workpieces to prevent dangerous laser exposure.

The KLS Laser Marking Shroud ensures a safe and compliant marking environment while providing the versatility necessary to handle a wide range of part sizes and setups.

Each shroud unit includes a shroud base assembly and one seal attachment of your choice.

The alternative seal type may be purchased separately as an additional accessory.

Shroud Base Assembly

The shroud base secures directly to the bottom of your laser marker and has an interface for the brush & foam seal attachments.

Brush Seal Attachment

Uses dual layers of 2″ tall brush strips to provide a flexible, light-tight barrier that conforms easily to highly uneven surfaces.

Foam Seal Attachment

This attachment features a thick layer of ultra-soft EPDM foam to create a high-conformity, light-tight seal against a variety of surfaces.

Additional Seal Attachments

FAQs

How does the shroud attach to my laser?

The KLS Shroud is designed as a “bolt-on” accessory that utilizes the existing mounting points on the underside of your Keyence marking head. No drilling or permanent modification to the laser marking head is required. Hardware to mount the shroud to your laser marker is included.

Can I switch between the brush and foam seals quickly?

Yes. The shroud base features a modular mounting interface. You can swap between the high-conformity foam seal attachment and the dual-layer brush seal attachment quickly using only an allen wrench.

Will the shroud interfere with the laser's focal range?

No. The total height of the shroud and seal stackup is designed so that when the seal is compressed against your workpiece, the part surface falls naturally within the laser marker’s focal window.

What if I have an extremely unique part shape?

The interchangeable seals are designed to handle the majority of industrial applications. However, if our standard foam or brush seal options don’t meet your needs, we offer custom designed seal assemblies tailored to your specific part geometry.

How do I ensure the system is light-tight?

The shroud is a physical barrier, and its effectiveness depends on the seal interface being properly compressed against the workpiece. After installation, the user must confirm that no light escapes the perimeter before operating the laser marker.
